Oscillating and circular patterns: compare the controls
The useful distinction is what you can adjust and where the spray needs to stop.
Read the stated pattern
The oscillating models in our library publish range controls; some also publish width controls. The Gilmour circular model publishes partial- and full-circle adjustments. These descriptions identify possible setup options, not a head-to-head field test.
Check the exact model
Similar product names can hide different adjustments. Melnor XT45000 and XT4200 have different source descriptions. Keep the identifier next to every field on your shortlist rather than transferring a control from a brand’s more expensive or newer model.
Compare under common conditions
A useful future field comparison would hold the hose setup, observation time and measurement layout constant while recording wind, pressure and settings. We have not run that comparison. A large “up to” number alone cannot establish which product suits a particular patch.
