What an “up to” coverage number leaves out

A maximum area is a source claim with conditions. Keep it separate from a yard measurement.

Write the claim as a claim

Our product library retains the manufacturer’s maximum coverage label and its source. Where the reviewed page omits the test pressure or setup, that omission appears beside the number. We do not convert a marketing maximum into an expected result at your spigot.

Ask what was held constant

Water pressure, hose setup, selected adjustments and wind are conditions worth recording. Oklahoma State University Extension discusses the effects of pressure and wind on sprinkler behavior. Its information is a reason to document your conditions, not a conversion factor that repairs a missing product specification.

Use local measurements for local decisions

A catch-can run records depths at the positions sampled during one setup. It helps you examine your own application rather than treating product claims as equivalent field trials. Repeat after material changes and preserve the original notes rather than replacing a low reading with a better-looking estimate.
